Out of concern of the coronavirus, we are replacing our spring Walk Day events with online celebrations. While we remain committed to our mission, the safety and wellbeing of our members, participants, volunteers and staff comes first.
Spring Walk Days are going virtual! This means that the following Walk Day gatherings will be replaced with online celebrations:
Westchester/Rockland - May 2
Milwaukee - May 9
Michigan - May 16
Nashville - May 16
Salt Lake City - May 16
Bay Area - May 30
Long Beach - May 31
Connecticut - June 13
The Walk4Hearing is a wonderful celebration and centerpiece of our community that provides essential resources and support for people with hearing loss.
Thank you! To the many team captains and walkers who have started building teams and fundraising, we thank you. We remain committed to our mission and encourage you to work to bring family and friends together in a new way.
You can register now. Even if your Walk is later in the year, register now and show your support. Find your event and register.
Please contact us with your questions and ideas, or just to let us know how you’re doing.
Let’s stay connected and keep our Walk4Hearing community together!
Is my Walk4Hearing taking place?
Spring Walk Days through June 2020 are going virtual as we all adapt in this challenging time. All fall Walk4Hearing Walk Day events are currently scheduled to take place as originally planned. Visit walk4hearing.org for more information regarding your specific Walk4Hearing location.
What is a virtual Walk Day event?
A virtual event is conducted on the internet instead of being held in a physical location. Team captains, participants, sponsors, and alliance organizations join from their computers at a specific time on Walk Day for an online celebratory and educational experience.
Participants are invited to share videos, photos and stories of why you walk and what you’re doing from home to raise funds and awareness. More information about how to participate and what to expect will follow.
Do I continue to fundraise for a Walk4Hearing event that has a virtual Walk Day?
Yes! Your support provides essential resources to people with hearing loss nationally and in local communities where walks take place.
If you participate in the Walk4Hearing through an alliance organization, your support helps that organization receive funding.
Here’s a few tips on how to fundraise:
How do I make a donation to a Walk?
It’s easy to make a donation whether Walk Day is virtual or in-person later this fall:
I have collected donations in the form of checks or cash, where do I send them?
Donations made by cash or checks are processed by local Walk committees. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to request your local Walk mailing address.
Please do not mail cash; kindly convert any cash donations to a personal check.
What can I share on social media to tell my friends and supporters about the Walk4Hearing?
If my Walk Day is virtual, how will I receive my incentive gift?
We are working to have these gifts distributed by mail to local walks and participants. Every registered walker who raises $100 or more will receive the Walk4Hearing t-shirt. Registered walkers who raise $500 or more will receive a Walk4Hearing beach towel.
