15TH ANNIVERSARY WALK4HEARING
FALL WALKS GO VIRTUAL

We will update you here about Walk Day events, and share ways you can build awareness, fundraise, and stay connected.

Out of concern of the coronavirus, we are replacing our fall Walk Day events with online celebrations. While we remain committed to our mission, the safety and wellbeing of our members, participants, volunteers and staff comes first.

Fall Walk Days are going virtual! This means that the following Walk Day gatherings will be replaced with online celebrations:

The Walk4Hearing is a wonderful celebration and centerpiece of our community that provides essential resources and support for people with hearing loss.

Thank you! To the many team captains and walkers who have started building teams and fundraising, we thank you. We remain committed to our mission and encourage you to work to bring family and friends together in a new way.

You can register now and show your support. Find your event and register.

Please contact us with your questions and ideas, or just to let us know how you’re doing.

Let’s stay connected and keep our Walk4Hearing community together! You will soon be able to join a virtual Walk Day celebration. It's a great way to show support for fellow walkers around the country and to introduce new friends to HLAA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my Walk4Hearing taking place?
Walk Days through November 2020 are going virtual. Visit walk4hearing.org for more information regarding your specific Walk4Hearing location.

What is a virtual Walk Day event?
A virtual event is conducted on the internet instead of being held in a physical location. Team captains, participants, sponsors, HLAA chapters, and alliance organizations join from their computers at a specific time on Walk Day for an online celebratory and educational experience.

Participants are invited to share videos, photos and stories of why you walk and what you’re doing from home to raise funds and awareness. More information about how to participate and what to expect will follow.

Do I continue to fundraise for a Walk4Hearing event that has a virtual Walk Day?
Yes! Your support provides essential resources to people with hearing loss nationally and in local communities where walks take place.

If you participate in the Walk4Hearing through an alliance organization or a HLAA chapter, your support helps that organization receive funding.

Here’s a few tips on how to fundraise:

  • Update your personal or team page to communicate why you walk, and what it means to your community, HLAA chapter, and alliance
  • Make a personal donation and ask 5 or more friends to support you by sending them an email message through My Walk Center
  • Set-up or re-share your Facebook Fundraiser

How do I make a donation to a Walk?
It’s easy to make a donation:

  • Go to walk4hearing.org, click on “Find A Walk” then choose a Walk to support
  • To make a general donation: click on the green button on the upper right hand corner next to the image
  • To donate to a walker: on the right of the image, type in the walker’s name and click on the magnifying glass to find the walker and make a donation to their fundraising page

I have collected donations in the form of checks or cash, where do I send them?
Donations made by cash or checks are processed by local Walk committees. Please email us at walk4hearing@hearingloss.org to request your local Walk mailing address.

Please do not mail cash; kindly convert any cash donations to a personal check.

What can I share on social media to tell my friends and supporters about the Walk4Hearing?

  • Follow your Walk’s Facebook page and share it to increase awareness
  • Share your personal or team page to encourage others to join your team
  • Link your page to Facebook and ask for donations

If my Walk Day is virtual, how will I receive my incentive gift?
These gifts will be distributed by mail to participants. Every registered walker who raises $100 or more will receive the Walk4Hearing t-shirt. Registered walkers who raise $500 or more will receive a Walk4Hearing beach towel.
