Once again we are participating in the HLAA Walk4Hearing on May 13th in Westchester. I know that you already support many worthy causes, probably even more so this year than you have in the past. I ask that you add this to your list. Because every donation makes a difference.
Hearing loss is a personal issue that can impact people in terms of interpersonal relationships, academic success, professional advancement etc. And yet, I know there are other more critical medical conditions and more pressing social, political and civil rights concerns. This community of people walk amongst you every day, and yet are virtually invisible. A community that includes children and teenagers and adults and the elderly. It includes people you work with, people you live with, people you love, people you see every day, people you havent seen in a long time. One out of every 5 people in American has some sort of hearing loss. And I am one of them
The Hearing Loss Association of America's (HLAA) Walk4Hearing increases awareness about hearing loss, helps to eradicate the stigma associated with it and raises funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss.
HLAA provides the assistance and resources for people with hearing loss and their families to learn how to adjust to living with hearing loss.
