It’s A Group Effort!
There’s strength in numbers and we can accomplish so much by working together toward a common goal. And the goal for today is - to have you join my Walk4Hearing team!
We’re walking to raise awareness about the importance of hearing health and to help improve the lives of people living with hearing loss. No one should have to be on this journey alone.
48 million (or, 1 in 6) people in the United States are living with some level of hearing loss. In today’s noisy world, millions more are at risk. We may not be able to reverse hearing loss, but we can help make a difference. The funds we raise as a team support services and programs that benefit people with hearing loss both in our local community and nationally.
It is estimated that people who suspect they have hearing loss wait an average of seven years before seeking treatment. If left untreated, hearing loss can have a significant negative impact on your quality of life. That’s why it is so important to get your hearing screened! So, if you think you may have a hearing loss, I challenge you to take action.
The call to action for the Walk4Hearing is “Get Your Hearing Screened!” A hearing screening is quick, and easy, but the benefits can last a lifetime. I’m asking you to take care of your hearing health and encourage your loved ones to do the same – maybe it’s even something you can do together to show support!
In fact, tell everyone about it! Follow HLAA Walk4Hearing on Twitter @Walk4Hearing and tweet using #screenURhearing to let others know you got your hearing screened. Don’t forget to also “like” the Walk4Hearing Facebook page and follow @hearinglossassociation on Instagram. Let’s use our social networks and spread the word!
Whether you join my team, make a donation, or help raise awareness by sharing what you’ve learned, I appreciate your help as we work to improve the lives of people living with hearing loss!
