Sponsor Me for the National Capital Area Walk4Hearing
I am again raising funds and awareness of hearing loss for the National Capital Area Walk4Hearing Saturday, October 21, 2017 to assist people with hearing loss and invite you to join the walk and/or make a contribution. I have walked in several of the National Capital Area walks at various locations and may walk this year in Alexandria.
I received a cochlear implant (CI) in 2007, and with my CI processor and hearing aid, I can understand speech much better but need and use accessible technology and of course still have a hearing loss and miss some conversations. Thanks to the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) and the hearing loss community for their continual advocacy to make sure that the ever changing technology is accessible for people with a hearing loss - including the millions of baby boomers who will lose some hearing, babies born with hearing loss, and returning soldiers whose number one disability is a hearing loss. HLAA has coping methods and materials on their website: www.hearingloss.org and hope you explore options.
The Baltimore Chapter has participated in all of the Washington D C walks and this fundraising supports activities of the Chapter.
Please join in the walk and/or donate to help make hearing loss an issue of national concern! I need your support to make this event a success. Please take a moment to sponsor my efforts. You can easily make a tax deductible contribution online and a receipt will be emailed to you. If you wish, you may write a check to Walk4Hearing and mail to my address. I will credit you on my walk page and send the check to the team leader.
Thank you very much!
