Walk4Hearing - June 13, 2021
I was born with a degenerative sensorineural (inner ear) hearing loss. This type of loss is not correctable but, with hearing aids, the effects can be less problematic. The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is a consumer advocacy organization representing the rights of people with hearing loss. The annual Walk4Hearing event is not only a fundraiser but a means of raising public awareness about hearing loss. Recent research by John Hopkins University revealed that there are now 48 million people in the US with some degree of hearing loss. Chances are that you, or someone you know, is affected by hearing loss. I will be participating in the Walk4Hearing this year and need your support to help make this event a success.
