As you know, Mae was born with left Microtia Atresia, hindering her ability to hear out of that ear.
On October 15th, Brett and I along with Ben and Mae would love it if you could join our team at the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Walk4Hearing in Raleigh. HLAA is the nation’s leading organization representing people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support and advocacy.
Organizations like HLAA have given Mae, and many others, the opportunity for advancement in technology and research that enables her to hear.
The money we raise goes to HLAA at the national level and also funds outreach and awareness programs locally. Without funding, we wouldn't have the resources that provided both Brett and I with the knowledge and support of raising a child with hearing loss.
** If you can’t make it to the Walk **, you can still join our team to help raise awareness and make a donation by going to our fundraising team page; the link to our page is available at the bottom of this message. Any amount you can give will make a big difference!
When you register and donate, be sure to select "BEGINNINGS" as the organization our team is walking in support of. BEGINNINGS is for Parents of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. It is a non-profit organization that helps parents and families understand hearing loss, and the diverse needs of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Their support helps families make informed decisions and empowers them to advocate for their child’s needs. They also support deaf parents who have children who are hearing and collaborate with the professionals who serve all of our children. They have been a HUGE advocate for our family!
Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing you at the Walk4Hearing!
