HLAA and Wake Chapter have helped me so much as I gradually lost my hearing (and regained much of it with powerful hearing aids, assistive devices and now, a cochlear implant). I'd never been much of a joiner, but when I learned how much HLAA was helping me, I wanted to "pay it forward" and help others through volunteering with Wake Chapter and through the annual Walk4Hearing. By helping others with hearing loss through HLAA, we're helping ourselves as much as we're helping them.
The annual Walk4Hearing is the main (no, it's the ONLY) source of income our chapter has, so do join our chapter's team this year and raise awarness for hearing loss and funds that will help HLAA, and our chapter. When you you register, you'll have a chance to select that you're supporting Wake Chapter team. Thank you, and hope to see you at the Walk4Hearing in Cary. Steve Barber
The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Walk4Hearing increases awareness about hearing loss, helps to eradicate the stigma associated with it and raises funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss. Since 2006, the Walk4Hearing has raised more than $12 million and has become the largest walk for hearing loss taking place in cities across the United States.
