We walk for Silas.
Join us Sunday, May 21st for the Connecticut Walk4Hearing!
Silas was born hard of hearing and started wearing hearing aids when he was three months old. Through genetic testing it was determined that Silas has Usher Syndrome Type 2A which caused his hearing loss.
Thanks to our Birth to 3 team we realized that Silas had gone from Mild to Moderate hearing loss to Profound.
In March 2016 Silas had Bilateral Cochlear Implant surgery at NYU. Since being activated Silas has been thriving. He loves to sing, read, and play with his friends at school.
Please join Silas' Sidekick for the CT Walk4Hearing!
The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Walk4Hearing increases awareness about hearing loss, helps to eradicate the stigma associated with it and raises funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss. Since 2006, the Walk4Hearing has raised more than $12 million and has become the largest walk for hearing loss taking place in cities across the United States.
