The University Hospital New FrontEARs has been proud to support the Walk4Hearing for the last several years and are back once again to spread awareness and raise funds to ease the burden of hearing loss for our patients.
It is our honor to help families with hearing loss move through the process of diagnosis, intervention and treatment. In our offices the Audiologists and our Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Otologists get to celebrate small victories implant patients on a daily basis. We hear stories of first words and successful telephone calls to children living across the country on a daily basis as we perform formal testing. However, our Cochlear Implant team is not comprised solely of Audiologists and Otologists. There are many more day of surgery professionals (Anesthesiologists, Nurses, Operating Room Technicians) as well as the “behind the scenes” team (including medical assistants and surgical coordinators) that share in the road to implantation but that do not get to see the outcomes of their work.
The Walk4Hearing gives the entire team a chance to celebrate all individuals with hearing loss outside the clinical setting of our Hospital. It allows us to remind patients we are here to support them as they continue on their communicative journey.
Please join us this year. If you cannot walk with us please consider making a donation for a member of the Team that is walking.
